ABOUT THE BOOK *SNEEK PEEK INSIDE*

Sherry (The Author) her twin girls and son

Get your toddler excited about having a "big-kid" bed.

oddler safety and child-proofing is a learning curve and educational process. Helping your child understand these issues on his/her level is a VERY excellent way to help yourself as parents! A Children’s Book is a great way to prepare and repetitiously reinforce the idea of the transition process and safety issues before you are facing the issue head on! Educate yourself and your child in the right developmental process and it will

give both your child and yourself an ease in this new milestone. To ease the transition, you may begin reading about a new bed, talking about the new bed, shopping for a new bed, and discussing the idea of rewards for big boys and big girls with good choices and behaviors. Child readiness is paramount to begin the process. This is all part of child development.

Having a strategy of when and how to move your child from the crib to a bed is the best plan for success!

Encouraging and praising your child as he/she begins to conquer new responsibilities and recognizing them as milestones and achievements is positive reinforcement. In this book, Sherry used different accomplishments that her son had achieved and named them as great accomplishments in the illustrations to help her child see and celebrate the things he had already learned to do, and how this next step was just another accomplishment for him. This technique will also help you build your child’s self-esteem. You may choose to have awards made, buy prizes, or draw your own pictures of the milestones your child has achieved in your own picture book or on a time line! Take pictures and show pride with these new accomplishments. YAY TEAM!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

As a Master in Educational Administration, with a background in Elementary Education, Sherry Renee has a developmental understanding and background with children. A mother of 3, Sherry had her hands full with a son and two twin daughters with an age difference of 2 years. Sherry wrote this book for her son to help him prepare for the new big boy bed while she was on bed rest with her twins. She wanted to know how to help him learn to sleep in his own bed. Her concern was to help Andrew understand, on his level, that safety was very important for him. Sherry looked for books on this subject and found nothing. So, she embarked on writing her own story to help son and this will hopefully help other parents in assisting the transition process to a new bed.
